October's Heavy Hitters

Oh hii Hardwell! Our boy's on it this month, releasing hit after hit along with this official teaser of his new song Cobra. Check out how balls to the wall epic the video is. You just can't help but want to RAGE when you see it!

Hardwell & Nicky Romero - Beta [Exclusive Preview] OUT NOW! by HARDWELL
Hardwell & Nicky Romero at it again... Two of my favorite artists + euphoric electro beats = must have on any DJ's October set. Hello bangin party mix ;)!

Benny Benassi ft Gary Go - Close To Me (R3hab Remix) [PREVIEW] by R3HAB
Fucking gnarly track by Benny and R3hab. The drop is absolutely INSANE. There's no need for me to elaborate; all you gotta do is hit play.

Nice dubby lil remix by Beat Grinder of the classic Move for Me from Deadmau5 and Kaskade. Speaking of the Mau5, guess who's going to see him for Halloween!? Couldn't be more stoked for Deadmau5, A-Trak, and Feed Me in San Francisco on the 29th. Be there, or be... Extremely sad you're missing out. Ha. ;D

Diplo & Oliver Twizt - Go (Peacetreaty Remix)
All I can say about this is: Fuck Yeah. THANK YOU, DIPLO!

Wolfgang Gartner - Weekend in America (check out Drop Beats Not Bombs' review and a tracklist of the album here)
If there's one word I could use to describe Wolfgang's recently released album, I would have to say inspired. Not only does he incorporate artists that you wouldn't necessarily expect in such a heavily synthed, electro-infused album (Jim Jones and Eve, just to drop a couple names) but every song is guaranteed to get you goin. The Champ, Circus Freaks, and Get Em are my personal faves.  Download them here, here & here.

David Guetta - Little Bad Girl (Dada Life Guerilla Fart #13)
This one's my personal theme song of the month. In other words, I drive around blasting this bad boy all day. (Or should I say bad girl...) It results in people giving me really funny looks when I'm on my way to work. What can I say? I mean I kinda sorta like to party. Not a lot tho, just a lillll bit.

Spencer & Hill are just killin' it right meow. Ch-ch-check out their latest tracks below...

Spencer & Hill - One Touch Away (DallasK Remix)
Ooh baby. Give me more! I'm loving the female vocals on this feel good track. It just makes you wanna go all kinds of crazy on the dance floor.

Sultan & Ned Shepard feat Nadia Ali - Call My Name (Spencer & Hill Remix)
Download here.
I think my love for Nadia Ali is pretty damn obvious about now... Combine that with the dance/electro vibes of Spencer & Hill, and you've got me wrapped around your little finger. Can't help but dance around my room while writing and listening to this song. :)

Spencer & Hill feat Nadia Ali - Believe It
"Every night, every day, I've been workin too hard lately. I get no sleep, get no rest, and I need to relax baby. So let's go out, forget this stress. We think too much, forget this mess. We work too hard, and have no time -- so let's go out, relax our minds.
Can you feel it? We can escape and feel so free. If you believe it, it will be yours in a heartbeat..."
Yes, yes and YES.

Joker feat Silas - Slaughter House (Tiesto Remix)
Mmhmm... It's official. Tiesto is a god.

And that's all for now babies.

Till next time, much love from your favorite degenerate ;)

Need. Moar. Music o_O

Well herro there my lil bass heads [=^.^=] I'll start off this post by relaying just how incredibly fucking awesome Identity Festival was. I went to the show in Mountain View at the Shoreline (jealous of all my friends who made it down to San Diego) and definitely blacked out by about 5pm, but came around just in time! Straight on that Pretty Lights hype right about meow... and of course Kaskade killed it right after him. L<3ve. Just love.

Now I think I have something you might enjoy ;) check out Electric Dreams, my September playlist...

Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso vs Avicii vs Clockwork - Calling Levels (AlexDD Mashup) (Radio Edit) by DJ AlexDD
Best song of the summer, mashed up with my feel good jam of the moment. I have literally had this on repeat -- on my laptop, in my car, and on my iPod -- for weeks now. Pretty much ever since EDC if I want to get real honest here... I'm a lil obsessed. Not a lot, just a lil bit. Could you tell? :p

Diamonds In The Sky (DirtyHabits! Remix) by Dirty Habits!
Two words: Fuck. Yes. This one is pure epicness. Definite banger to blast in your car. Maybe even blow out your speakers. I'm down for whateva.

Porter Robinson - Unison by Porter Robinson
Couldn't be more stoked about the release of Porter's new album! It's funny because when I saw him for the first time last year at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz, everyone around me couldn't stop talking about how he was going to blow up within a year. Now look at the kid. He's barely out of high school and already playing at events like Electric Daisy Carnival. Saw him again there, which was beyond amazing. Got mad love for Porter Robinson <3

Porter Robinson - Unison (Knife Party Remix) by Porter Robinson
Can't forget about Knife Party's filthy remix of this song. It's unbelievable how hard these boys from Pendulum throw it down... I wouldn't be a bassaholic if I wasn't head over heels for bass, and these two know how to tear it UP in every song they've released since August. Knife Party > Pendulum. Knife Party... they're so hot right meow.
Want more info about them? Here ya go: http://www.mymusicisbetterthanyours.com/2011/08/so-knife-party-didnt-waste-any-time-blowing-up/

Take Over Control (Spencer & Hill Remix) - Afrojack by Alien Distraction
Mmhmm... It's exactly what you think it is. Bringing back Take Over Control baby! One of my favorite songs of all time. Plus this is fucking dirty as hell. Just sit back and enjoy that Warp 1.9-esque drop; makes your head want to explode... in the best way possible. No worries, you can thank me later.

Morgan Page, Sultan & Ned Shepard & BT feat. Angela McCluskey - In The Air (Hardwell Remix) by Marios Muzik
I'm feeling a change, in the air... well it's about damn time, Morgan Page. And just in time for fall. Soon the leaves will start changing colors; you can taste the chill in the air, and feel the goosebumps on your skin. For now, this song is what's giving me goosebumps. Definitely another classic.

Carry Me Home : Tommy Trash Remix by DJ YOUNGPLAYY
Did someone say BANGER!? I fucking love you, Tommy Trash. You can carry me home any day. ;D

And last but not least, my #1 favorite of the month. Perfect for smoking a jay on the drive home after a long night at work. Roll all the windows down and let the wind rake its fingers through your hair. "She smelled of daisies. She drive me crazy." I can never stop smiling when I hear that line. It just makes me feel those little bubbles of happiness popping in my brain. Or who knows; maybe that's the marijuana enveloping my senses. All I know is that I have to sit in the car and finish the song before I can go into my house. I mean, that's when you know. That's when you know it's a good fucking song.

Computer Crash Update

Hi guys! Sorry it's been so long since my last update, but it's kinda tough to find and post new music when your computer crashes... -__- I know, perfect timing right? Could be due to the fact that I've been downloading so many songs per day lately, but let's be real here. I refuse to give up my addiction anytime soon, sooo I guess my rebooted hard drive will just have to deal with it. Anyway, I'm going to start off with a shorter update for the day, just to get the ball rollin. As soon as my computer is up and running again I'll be able to get back on track. :)

Apes from Space (Dirtyloud Remix) by mightybountykilla1
^ Loving this. Just about the perfect mix of dirty electro to start your day (or the party) off right.

Dada Life - Let's Get Bleeped Tonight (Tiesto Remix) by Nejat
Moving right along with a classic banger from Dada Life. Tiesto's touch turns anything to gold, and even if you had this song on replay all those months ago when it first came out, you can't help but blast it all over again.

Autoerotique - Bubonic by Tim-Rob
Not gunna lie, I'm absolutely obsessed with this song right meow. Definitely made it my ringtone on my phone... and you don't have to tell me what a dork I am :p I already know. But still, you can't deny it's a fucking party all on its own. Did somebody say BANGER!?

Alexandra Stan - Get Back (Danny Rush Remix)
"Boy you make me high, I want you to try and get back asap." It's as if lil miss Stan read my mind. Whether you're missing a certain someone or just looking for a new song to blast while going about your day, this pop-infused, catchy little tune will not disappoint. Like the popular Mr. Saxobeat, this song has just the right amount of fun and breathy sweet lyrics for you to enjoy for the next couple weeks. Unfortunately couldn't find it on soundcloud, but you can listen & download it here: http://hulkshare.com/6cgc085da3g4

Britney Spears - I Wanna Go (Disco Fries Remix)
Check it out... Britney and electro. I'm loving the unexpected but epic combo. In other words, it's frickin amazeballs.

And I'll wind down this post with two of my favorite music videos at the moment; Armin and Nadia Ali along with Tristan Garner, and a beautiful rendition of Cry Just a Little by the Bingo Players. I just can't resist.

Nadia Ali is way too sexy for me not to post this video. I just love her! At first I thought she was Persian; turns out she's Pakistani. This just proves that the hottest girls come from the Middle East. Chyeahhh buddy.

And our last song for the day...

Need I say more?

Welcome to second reality. Live the life you've always dreamed. Be the person you always wanted to be. It's not just an illusion; it's a new state of being. A way to experience your dreams. In second reality, you make the decisions. It's not just an illusion. . . .

Mid-August Party Playlist

My friend Debbie & I at HARD Summer Music Festival in LA...
Good times :)

Daft Punk - Aerodynamic (Nicky Romero Bootleg)
Download Here: http://www10.zippyshare.com/v/85687862/file.html
Let’s start this playlist off with a classic, splashed with a lil bit of dirty electro to get the party goin.  Listen to this and you’ll see why Nicky hasn’t lost his touch (along with the fact that Daft Punk will never get old, of course).

Bassex - Pure Pleasure
Get ready… This song will enter your system through the sounds of pure sex being dripped into your eardrums.  Turn it up and try not to lick the speakers.  @__@

Hyper Crush - Fingers Up
My official favorite party anthem for the summer. There's really nothing else to be said that the song doesn't already pound into your eardrums; Party Like a Bass Head. If you're really clever you'll notice the byline at the top of my page... hmm. Wonder where that came from. ;)

Rye Rye feat Robyn - Never Will Be Mine
Pretty much physically impossible not to drive fast while blasting this song… Just go ahead and try :) let me know how that works out for ya.

C-BooL – House Baby (Sound DizturBer’s 2011 Electro Remix)
Can’t really explain why I’m currently obsessed with this song except to say: the beat is gnarly.  I love the mix of epic electro with a catchy tagline; plus, there’s no better way to describe my state of mind than to call me a House Baby.  That or Rave Baby, I mean I’d take either one.  I always thought that would be the cutest saying to put on a license plate… Me and my crazy highdeas.  Lol.

and it wouldn't be a party playlist without featuring this song of course!
Tiesto feat Kay – Work Hard, Play Hard (Autoerotique Remix)
“This beat’s for all my freaks / We’re runnin on no sleep / So line the shots up because this party’s jumpin . . . turn the volume UP”

Everyone and their mom has heard this one by now, but that doesn’t make it any less awesome!  This is a tune for the lives of the party — otherwise known as the party animals, those who down shots one after the other and come at you wanting more.  The ones who play their music loud enough to blow out the speakers.  The ones who dance the craziest, trip the hardest, party the most and can hang for the longest.  Till 4am, my friends.  Hell, why should we stop then?  Let’s keep it going till the sun comes up ;D

That’s all for now.  Stay tuned for my next tracklist… Songs to wind down the summer and your day.

Till next time, much love from your fellow bass head!

Welcome to Bassaholics 101.

...or as I see it, a place where I can indulge in all my music-based needs; somewhere I can post (and you can find) all the songs, remixes, mashups and playlists I love and am currently addicted to. I'll share every song I wake up to stuck in my head, classics remixed with a splash of house beats or that mind blowing womp womp wobble that only exists in dubstep, party anthems (we all know the songs you crank up in the car, and/or drive around listening to on full blast over and over with your friends) and of course the ones you can't help but dance around in your underwear to. The songs that make you unable to stop smiling when you hear them live, standing in a crowd of people swaying, dancing and fist pumping along to the music.

This blog will include a wide range of everything from those songs to my faves of the day, cool & trippy music videos, reviews of events I go to, and anything else related to drum & bass.

New to this kinda music? Get ready. If I haven't made a bass head out of you after reading this blog, I'll consider it my mission to get you addicted. :P Already on the scene? Welcome again, to Kimia's crash course in Bassaholics 101. Here we go.

PS. Yes, I am aware there is a Bassaholics brand for clothing, hats, merchandise, all that good stuff. And no, it doesn't have much to do with this blog, and more of just a mutual addiction to all things bass. :) Now that that's out of the way, let's get started....
